Welcome to the Security Council of CENMUN 2017. In this model you will have to address present international crisis topics in the role of a specific delegation. Your delegation has to address the topic in a realistic way defending its interests and policies in order to reach to a resolution on the given topics. World is facing difficult times where humanitarian crisis put each delegation in the need to keep international security. The Security Council chair wishes you best of luck and encourages to do your best in this model.

The Security Council was founded in 1945 as one of the six main organs of the United Nations. Its meetings take place in the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Its main goal is to prevent and deal with conflicts involving international peacekeeping and peacebuilding.
The Security Council may look into any dispute or situation which might endanger international peace and security. It shall determine the existence of any threat to peace, breach of the peace, or act of aggression. Before taking any decision, it may call upon the parties concerned to comply with such provisional measures as it deems necessary or desirable. The Security Council may also decide what measures not involving the use of armed force are to be employed, and it may call upon the Members of the UN to apply such measures. However it these have proved to be inadequate, it may take such action by air, sea or land forces as may be necessary to maintain or restore international peace and security.
